Piled Packages

Yes, this is me today… well, this week. I absolutely love the holidays, my job and everything that has a bow, but right now my desk needs tending to and I need some elves. My desk is piled high with papers and files in preparation for my last event of 2011 and events to begin 2012. I have had zero time to shop for Christmas except for the two gifts I have purchased off line, one that was a complete fail (sorry to my fiance). So, while I am hiding behind fabulous events all wrapped with pretty, unique bows can I find an elf to do my christmas shopping for me? I promise I will be back as soon as I can. If there isn’t a blog post tomorrow you will NOT want to miss Monday! I promise to post something good! Something so good it’s better than smores in the fireplace or extra sprinkles on your favorite cupcake (yes, it really is that good)! Happy Holidays!

Swing Batter Batter

With the world series game 1 tonight I thought why not have some fun, and how fun would a baseball themed wedding be! The Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals have the color red in common so I began there with red bridesmaid dresses. For Texas accent with blue flowers and for St. Louis accent with yellow flowers. If your favorite team doesn’t have red, blue or yellow opt for a vintage feel with shades of brown and accents of leather. If you’re a Rangers fan have your bridesmaids bring their cowboy boots, and if you’re a Cardinals fan top your cake with little birds. For either team it’s easy to take your guests out to the ball park. Serve coke in old fashion bottles, grilled chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and ice cream cones with the cake. Have your guests see you off with sparklers and even add some fireworks in there for a real night at the ballpark feel.  What would you add to this baseball themed wedding?

Every Love Story

With the combination of a light drizzle and cooler temperatures here in Tulsa I knew where to find today’s inspiration. I love how every love story is different and non-traditional brides are taking charge of their day. The non-traditional feel of this board from the redhead bride to seafoam color bridesmaid dress is stunning. With brides stepping outside of the box I’m a big fan of this iced, chocolate cake and opal ring. Opt for a natural feeling bouquet in pinks and reds with a sweet ribbon tied around the stems. Carry the floral look over to the tables for the centerpieces. Make your grand exit in a vintage car with your man. I couldn’t resist including this good looking man in today’s post; hey why not?!

Happy Long Weekend

I know I have been MIA when it comes to blogging the past couple of days and I am very sorry. Unfortunately, I am going on a rather long holiday vacation and will not return until next week. I promise when I get back you will have more fabulous blogs than you know what to deal with. Until then all of the Zinke girls hope you have a lovely week, and an even more lovely Labor Day. Today we’re kickin’ up or heels and hittin’ the road! Happy long, holiday weekend! xo

Modern Minimalist

We asked what you would like to see on the blog, and here it is! Today’s inspiration came from Courtney who said she would like to see something modern and minimalistic. I absolutely love this inspiration for the city bride. This courtyard with a gold wall and concrete floor give the color palate for the event; gold and taupe. Begin by sending out fun invitations with gold foil details; pick a fun font to set the tone. Set out white chairs for the ceremony and the ceremony decorations are complete. The reception building has beautiful ceilings that only need minimal decorations. String neutral color feathers and stringer lights across the ceiling for a modern twist. With a fun ceiling installation minimal table decorations are needed; use neutral linens, organic chargers, simple gold flatware and small groups of white flowers to complete the look. Incorporate gold rims on the cocktail glasses, cover the grooms cake in edible gold and decorate the brides cake with gold details. With an event like this the bride should have a fun dress (at least for the reception) and a beautiful white bouquet. What would you add to this event?

Alice in Wedding Land

I’m absolutely in love with this gorgeous image by Elizabeth Messina! How perfect is this dress full of texture and loveliness for an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. Begin by sending out simple invitations; you could even put a key in each one for a fun twist. Decorate with tea cups, tea pots and pocket watches on the tables, and dainty china for place settings. Incorporate playing cards for table numbers, escort and place cards. Use frilly texture flowers like peonies for arrangements in soft shades to compliment the china. To dress up the event place a top hat on the ring bearers head and tuxes for the wedding party. Call my cheesy, but if my name were Alice, and I were getting married, I would highly consider an Alice in Wedding Land themed reception – ok bridal shower at least.

An Afternoon Affair

This afternoon I have a beautiful affair to share with you. I would place this adorable family home on a vineyard in wine country for the location, and serve wine from the vineyard to the guests. With a beautiful outdoor setting you only need minimal decorations; I would include stringer lights for ambiance at dusk and  flowers for the wedding party. This bouquet is the perfect combination of natural greenery and elegant flowers like the pink ranaculi. The wedding party would wear all white; delicate dresses for the bridesmaids and tutu’s for the flower girls. I love this bridal gown, and the off-the-shoulder neck line would be perfect for this wedding. For summer I would serve a light menu of fresh green and seasonal berries. For dessert don’t forget a beautiful cake and white macaroons to end the perfect afternoon affair.
