A Snowman Birthday Party

This morning on Facebook I asked, “Would you rather be a snowman or gingerbread man?” and it seems snowman was the favorite. I started out thinking of a sophisticated snowman party with fun evening gowns and pretty china, but then I saw this adorable tutu! Let’s face it nothing is better than a tutu, so I switched gears to a kiddo friendly birthday party! Change out your traditional holiday wreath to a fun snowman for your front door and hang some adorable snowman paper garland. For centerpieces turn ornaments into snowman and fill a glass jar. Kids love yummy goodies, theme them for the party and your set! Who doesn’t love cake; these cakeballs are the perfect bit size portion. Set up a hot chocolate station with “snowman arms,” “coal eyes,” “carrot noses,” and peppermint buttons” for an extra fun touch. For the birthday girl decorate her chair with a snowman slip cover and dress her in this precious tutu. Since I don’t have any kids does anyone have a kid I can borrow to throw them a snowman party?

Happy Holidays!

A Gold Glitter Holiday Party

Yes, I am finally embracing the holidays (good thing because I have 2 1/2 weeks to shop for Christmas) and I had to start with glitter! Since I now have a fiance ūüôā we have a few holiday parties to go to and of course that means new outfits. I know I should be shopping for everyone else, but let’s face it what girl can resist a fabulous new dress. For my first holiday look I’m beginning with this sequin-embellished dress from The Outnet and pairing it with this Betsy Johnson bow clutch from Bloomingdale’s and these adorable bow earrings. If you are playing host for the evening don’t forget to decorate the outside of your venue. I’m a big fan of white lights, because a little go a long way, and I love this row of trees outside a brick building. If you’re on a budget, or you spent your budget on your outfit, this Etsy Garland is also very DIY friendly. Click on over to Etsy to order yours, or you can find some sparkle paper, cut some circles, squares, triangles or whatever shape you love and glue them to each side of a piece of string. Wah-Lah! I’m a huge fan of edible gold, yes there is such a thing click here, so I would coat my entire cake with it! For favors send guests home with cute little gold reindeer! Happy Holidays!

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Inspired Event

Who says the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show can’t inspire a girl to more than just hitting the gym a few extra hours? The Passion segment opened and the bold, beautiful colors were perfect! (See the inspiration video here.)When angel¬†Candice¬†Swanepoel hit the runway in this piece that was hand embroidered in India I fell in love! It is the perfect blend of bright and feminine, what girl wouldn’t want a party themed after the most expensive piece in the show? I would start by sending out a feminine invitation with a neon accent and envelope liner. I would also enclose some fun neon confetti for guests to know they are bound for a fun time! If you’re looking for a neon DIY look these mason jars are perfect and 100 Layer Cake even walks you though how to make them here. Since Brooklyn Bride posted this fabulous neon tablescape September 12 I have been looking for a way to incorporate it into a blog! I love the lime runner and hot pink and orange accents on the plates and banquette. Make fun place cards with neon colored pencils, and don’t forget to set you cake on a bright cake stand. You could even put a fun flower on your cake for it to look like Candice’s shoes! Don’t forget that you’re the host and you must dress to impress. While I’m not suggesting you have a hand embroidered piece sent to you front India, try a statement necklace to tie you into your event. All you have left to do is have a happy VS Fashion Show inspired event!

Swing Batter Batter

With the world series game 1 tonight I thought why not have some fun, and how fun would a baseball themed wedding be! The Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals have the color red in common so I began there with red bridesmaid dresses.¬†For Texas accent with blue flowers and for St. Louis accent with yellow flowers.¬†If your favorite team doesn’t have red, blue or yellow opt for a vintage feel with shades of brown and accents of leather.¬†If you’re a Rangers fan have your bridesmaids bring their cowboy boots, and if you’re a Cardinals fan top your cake with little birds. For either team it’s easy to take your guests out to the ball park. Serve coke in old fashion bottles, grilled chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and ice cream cones with the cake. Have your guests see you off with sparklers and even add some fireworks in there for a real night at the ballpark feel. ¬†What would you add to this baseball themed wedding?

Pretty Pumpkin Party

I will be the first to admit that fall is not my favorite season… I know, I know. I do love that the weather is cooling, but I do not like that it means winter is coming. I am so much more of a sunshine, bright spring and summer colors, hang out by the pool kind of girl. So, even though fall is here I will not be down. I have found some of my favorite fall things to throw a party on today’s blog! The number one thing (to me) that says fall has arrived is pumpkin spice lattes at that famous coffee shop, and who doesn’t love pumpkin? So lets throw a pumpkin party, and¬†I’m not talking about a pumpkin patch kiddo party, I’m talking a pretty pumpkin party. Start with sweet tone on tone invitations with a ribbon tied in a knot; while you’re at it throw a ribbon in your hair too. Set the tables with pretty plates and linen napkins. I am loving the idea of taking your favorite serving dishes to the paint store to match the color, then painting your pumpkins to match! If you don’t think your serving dishes would be pretty pumpkin colors you can not go wrong with flowers. I love to change things up, so instead of your typical fall colors create centerpieces from soft yellow parrot tulips, white ranunculus, greenery from the flower stems and a touch of red. For dessert serve cider and pumpkin rolls. I’m thinking I love this so much I need to have a girls night for a fun dinner party; who wants to be added to the list?
